  The service was a little slow. The rice didn't arrive at all. The price of the mud crab was unexpectedly very high. My bad, I should have checked before confirming that I wanted it.

  Very sad to see the live fish/crab crammed in tiny tanks with the fish all with scarring on the face, yes they are there to be eaten but it is unnessary cruelty, tried to take it up with staff but they think it's ok. Shame

  We've spent a week on holiday eating out at mainly Asian places. For dinner, we had decided we needed to go beyond Vietnamese, Korean and Indian, we had to go to our own roots, so we went to Taste of China. We started with some pan-fried pork dumplings and then had three big dishes. A FNQ mud crab steamed with garlic, ginger and shallots, deep fried boneless duck, and lemon chicken with crispy skin.

  We ordered salmon and it's good. The unfortunate thing is that they provide terrible customer service. Cairns is supposed to be a beautiful and multicutural city. Any person regardless of race should be treated equally. We were Asian not Chinese and seated next to Caucasian customers. The service was fast for them and were asked a few times if everything is fine. We waited and had to inquire many times for our needs. It's a depressing experience. I hope that this will not happen to other customers.

  The duck was good as was the chicken. The crab tasted good but there wasn't a lot of meat. To be fair, July is not mud crab season. One of the claws was small. I guess this crab had a fight early in its life and threw a claw. We decided to take matters into our own hands for dessert and bought a tub of ice cream from Woolworths next store.
