    A nice place. But for a backpacker nothing to go every night. Next time I will visit this place again. Actually in August 2006 I did a week of cleaning in there in the early morning around 7 am. Cleaning this place was not the reason I quit. Before I had to different other places to clean ;-)

    This is by far the best spot in cairns. Great views, huge range of drinks, reasonable prices, perfect location, awesome staff...Pier Bar has it all. Make sure you hit happy hour every day from 5-7pm for $5 pints. Weekends are big at the Pier so if you want live music and a fund crowd it's the place to be. You can get dinner until 9pm and whenever we ate there it was great. Never had to wait long either. The service is on point, always fast and always with a smile. Those guys seem to love what they're doing! Special thanks to Amy who always makes us feel welcome and knows how to run a bar. There are so many bars in Cairns but Pier Bar beats them all!

    Bouncers are wanna be tough cops. Asked to leave for no reason at all. Moved of the premises without a fuss and got abused for taking too long. Do not recommend.
